The index card is wonderful format!!! After 2 layers of gesso I use the pencil to put in loosely the shapes and sizes. Then comes some shading and overall ideas of color. I have been using thick oils to add to the texture, depth and overall feel. A great jump off for bigger paintings and working out the problems beforehand.
The village of Ste Émilion is a must see when one visits France…you will love the rich history, gastronomic adventures and of course, an abundance of wines to taste and leisure over.

I will be showing sketching and painting techniques. These will be small studies one can do daily or several in a day. They later can be jump-offs for bigger paintings in your studio or put together in a book of travel memories. You will learn to work in small format, shading, blocking out ideas, use of color and much more. It is a way to iron out ideas quickly and improve your skills.
Come explore and have fun…bring a friend!!!
